Sarah's Silks are an incredible open-ended toy that can be used for sensory, pretend or creative play.
Sarah's Silks are a small family run business started over 25 years ago in California. Sarah was inspired by the philosophies of Waldorf education and her own childhood of pretend play fun, to design and hand-make playsilks, costumes and other eco-friendly toys.
At The Creative Toy Shop, we stock one of the largest selections of silks in Australia, with playsilks, giant playsilks, streamers, crowns, garlands and mini play silks for babies, in ALL the colours of the rainbow! We also stock their fairy dresses, knights costumes, princess veils, capes, crowns and wings.
There are so many possibilities for play with Sarah's Silks. Some children make costumes like capes, skirts, pants, hats, veils, animal tails and more. The next day the same silks become green grass for their toy animals to live on, blue water to sail the boats, or a rainbow can appear in the sky above them.
Many children wrap their dolls in them or tie them on as a sling to carry a favourite animal or doll around in.
They can be used to build forts with the sofa cushions, for a puppet show curtain, and for magic tricks.
